what is Rooted Voices choir?
Rooted Voices Community Choir is a weekly singing group for all people and ages, meeting on Thursday evenings at the Tabernacle at MOMA in Machynlleth, Powys. The group runs with the school term time with breaks for half terms.
We focus on voice health, feeling good in our bodies and harmony singing. No previous experience necessary and shy singers very welcome!
I operate on a sliding scale of £5-15 per session, or term bookings. I open for term bookings at the start of each term.
Our term dates for 2025 are:
Spring term: 9th Jan to April 10th (half term break on 27th Feb)
Summer term: 1st May to 17th July (half term break on 29th May)
Autumn term: 5th Sep to 18th December (half term break on 30th Oct)

How to Find Us
Our entrance and exit is at the BACK of the building, next to the window onto the Tannery gallery. To get there from Penrallt st, turn at the war memorial, take Maes Glas and then the first right onto Graig Fach. There is parking just outside the back entrance. See photos below for guidance. The Tabernacle is just down the corridor to the left of the door where you’ll come in. I’ll put up some signs to guide you.
We can use the disabled toilet, however as the rest of the gallery will be locked and alarmed, we cannot access it via the lift which means there are 3 steps to navigate to get down to the toilet (ironic I know). If this will prevent you from coming, please let me know and I will see if we can arrange a ramp or another solution.
